Reblogged from this isn't happiness..
So it’s been weeks and weeks since I posted anything. Why? Well, mostly due to the fact that I’ve been preoccupied with a number of things.
#1) New Job - It’s been great. I started in early October at a family operated business just three blocks down from where I live. Needless to say, location alone has made life less stressful let alone having a job again. The two combined have done wonders on basic outlook in life.
#2) Music/Band - Certainly not out to conquer the world, but for once it’s been nice to have no agenda other than selfish ones. Such as writing a whole new set and album/recording. The main difference with this batch of folks and others I have been in a band with is allowing everyone to write/have their say. Our space has been constructed to act as a small studio for demoing. Having the capabilities to record every practice with a separate room for mixing has led us to having a stock pile of material to mess with. Everyone has found time on their own to track new ideas, too. This alone has been very fulfilling. More than joining the rat race of marketing and Myspace’ing your music/band, etc.
#3) Social Life/Etc - No complaints here. Having a life again due to recent employment offerings is great. Nice to see new/old friends more often.
#4) Purchases/Consumerism - Yes, I have joined the ranks of others with buying “stuff”. But, it’s been things I’ve really wanted over the years. Such as all the 12”s that were taken away from me when I was in High School(long story) and others that have been on my wish list as far back as Jr High. Dsicogs.com and Ebay have done good for me. Maybe too good.
With that, just know I’m still alive. Shits good. No complaints.
